Summerdale Early Childhood Center and Head Start are teaming up with the Rockford Police Department for special classroom reading visits! Officers are sharing United Way books with students while helping build positive connections ahead of the school’s annual lockdown drill.

Big smiles, little backpacks, and lots of first-day excitement! Our Early Childhood Centers are buzzing with curiosity and joy as our youngest learners started their school adventure yesterday.
Come join us Monday, Aug 3, 2026 from 8-4 and Tuesday Aug 4, from 8-6 while we assist w/ registration paperwork at our Rock Star signing event. If you have already registered online, you are all set.
Save the date: August 3 & 4 is our Rock Star Signing Event (registration paperwork). On that Monday from 8-4 or on Tuesday from 8-6, come and join the band and be ready for the first day of school! More details to come.

Online Registration for next school year is now open! Keep an eye out on your inbox. You'll receive an email from PowerSchool Enrollment for each student. This email includes a unique Snapcode that you'll need to begin the registration process. SAVE THE DATE: Truckloads of fun! The Rockford community is invited to Touch a Truck on Thursday, April 23 from 5-6:30pm in the parking lot at Summerdale Early Childhood Center, 3320 Glenwood Ave. See trucks of all sizes up close & personal. The event is free. See you there!

Due to the emergency day used on March 16, the last day of school is now Thursday, May 21 for Early Childhood, and Friday, May 22 for K-11 grades. Seniors' last day will stay the same on Friday, May 8.
