There is no school this week as we celebrate Thanksgiving or Fall Break. Students return to school on Monday, December 2nd.

Make sure your child is dressed for the weather with a coat, hat, and gloves. We will be outside for recess every day there is no rain or snow falling and the temperature is above a windchill of 10 degrees.

Lane Families, This week, our attendance percentage dropped by 1.3%, and while we are still striving for our goal of 93%, we can achieve this together! We are pleased to share that 347 students had perfect attendance during this week. Thank you to those families who brought their child to school every day, on time and ready to learn. Your dedication makes a significant difference. To reach our attendance goal, we encourage all families to continue prioritizing daily attendance. Hello Lane families, We are happy to announce that our attendance percentage has continued to increase. We have increased our attendance an additional 1.5%, great job Lane families! We are still striving for our goal of 93%. We are 0.5% away from reaching our goal! We are also excited to announce 390 students had perfect attendance during this particular week! Thank you for ensuring they are present and ready to learn each day. This commitment is truly appreciated and plays a vital role in their academic success. Let's continue to work together to motivate our students and remind them of the importance of being present in school. All RPS 205 schools and offices are closed today in observance of the holiday.

Lane Families, The week of 10/14/2024, our attendance percentage took a major drop of 4.8%, we would like to strive back to our goal of 93%, we can achieve this together! We are pleased to announce 351 students had perfect attendance during that week. We are excited to award those students with a Weekly Attendance H.E.R.O sticker! Thank you to those families who brought their child to school every day, on time and ready to learn. Your dedication makes a significant difference. To reach our attendance goal, we encourage all families to continue prioritizing daily attendance. Let’s work together to motivate our students and remind them of the importance of being present in school. Attendance Reminders: Please be sure to call the school to report your child's absence. Please know that dropping off your child late or picking up your child early from school also impacts their overall attendance. Principal Appreciation Day: This annual recognition was first approved by Illinois' Governor in 1990. We took pictures of our principals at our 41 schools & asked students to draw them for us. Here are some of their works of art. Thank you all RPS 205 Principals!

To celebrate National School Lunch Week, RPS 205 is holding a contest to see who can make the most creative chicken sandwich. The students who create winning chicken sandwiches will win an iPad and their sandwiches will be featured on the menu in the Spring Semester! Please turn in your work of art to the kitchen team in your school's cafeteria between October 14-18. We can't wait to see the delicious combinations you draw up!
